The Judybats were an alternative rock band from Knoxville, TN.  I used to stay up late, just to watch 120 minutes on MTV.  It was one of a few resources for me to learn of new indie bands.  The Judybats were a pleasant discovery. I think they were in my top 10 favorite bands, back in college.

Madder Rose was an alternative rock band from New York in the early 90's.  I played the hell out of this cd in the college days.  Such a great nostalgic cd. It reminds me of the time when every weekend was spent at a bar checking out bands and going to concerts.  Oh the freedom to just do what you wanted. No obligations, no kids, no mortgage.  The freedom to wipe out a paycheck just as quickly as you got it, buying new cd's and concert tickets... and beer.   Those were some of the best days of my life.

Sparta - Did you hear?  Sparta has awoken.  Yes, it is true.  The band has reformed.  All I have to say is it's about time.  I love this band so much.  I love Jim's solo work too, but I'm so glad they are back and putting out a new cd.  I'm so giddy, I can hardly contain myself.  Their first gig in 3 years will be 11/17/11.
