These guys came out before their time. Love the poppy punk sound.
Here is Pickin' Flowers For. Aric turned me on to this band when we first started dating. They were based out of Seattle, but later moved to Portland.
Here is Love is Dead from the Lovemakers. The Lovemakers are a band from Oakland, CA. I'm a military brat and we were stationed in Alameda right next to Oakland for a few years.
This is a band called the Mysteries of Life from Bloomington, Indiana. They are led by a husband and wife team. Here is Going through the motions off of the Keep a Secret Album. I love every song on this album.
Here is a catchy little song from Neon Trees. This song is called Animal. If you watch Glee, you will recognize this song. Neon Trees is a band from Provo, UT. Fun Fact...The band name originated from the lighted trees on the in-n-out burger signs.
Here a Breathe in from a band called Paloalto. Paloalto is based out of Los Angeles, CA. You may have heard some of their songs if you watched the OC or Hellboy.
Here is a song called Munich from the Editors. The Editors are a British band based in Birmingham. They sound similar to Interpol...If I were to classify them.
Sweet Thing Change of Seasons.
I heard this song while watching the movie "Easy A". I really like the song. The video, not so much. Rent the movie. It's pretty cute/funny.
Mellowdrone Fashionably uninvited
Mellowdrone is from Los Angeles, CA. I love the line in this song.
"Excuse me is my rant taking too long? Is it getting in the way of this lovely song."
Supersuckers Born With a Tail
Eddie Spaghetti ROCKS! Here is one of my favorite bands. I've seen them open up for Social Distortion. They have so many albums out and I love them them all. One of the greatest bands on SubPop records!
Once At the Drive In broke up, 1/2 the band went on to form Sparta and the other half went on to form the Mars Volta. I like Sparta better, as Mars Volta is a bit too "Zappaish" for me. Sparta is based out of El Paso, TX.
Better known as HOLS
Here is Cedar Falls Iowa band. I love their tongue in cheek lyrics. They always put on great live show. I was pregnant with my first son at one of their shows years ago. Fun fact... Dave (singer) and Barb (bassist) are married.
This is a song called Leave it alone. This was from their album American Standard released in 1992. I really enjoy this whole album. They are based out of Los Angeles CA
